Steps:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a skillet with cooking spray. Heat it over high heat and add diced onions, roasting for a couple of minutes.
  2. Add garlic and ground beef to the skillet, browning the beef. Once done, reduce the heat to medium and season with salt, pepper, and oregano.
  3. Add peas, rice, tomato sauce, 1 cup of cheese, and chicken broth to the skillet. Let it simmer for around three minutes, ensuring everything is well-mixed.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a casserole dish and place it in the oven.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes or until the mixture is heated through and starts to bubble.
  6. Remove from the oven. In a bowl, whisk together sour cream and the remaining cheese until fully combined.
  7. Pour the sour cream and cheese mixture over the top of the casserole. Bake for another 15 minutes or until the cheese melts and the casserole starts to bubble.
