  1. Potato Power: Believe it or not, a humble potato can work wonders in restoring your light switch to its pristine state. The potato’s natural starch helps eliminate grease residues and fingerprints. Cut a potato in half and rub it directly on the switch. For trickier spots, use cotton soaked in potato juice.
  2. Cleansing Milk or Baking Soda Paste: Create a paste by mixing cleansing milk or baking soda with water. Apply this paste to the light switch, scrubbing gently to achieve a white and shiny finish.
  3. White Vinegar Solution: White vinegar is an excellent ally in removing dirt, grease, and bacteria from light switches. Apply it directly or mix it with water for a thorough cleaning.
  4. Alcohol Caution: Alcohol can be used cautiously for its cleaning properties, but it’s essential to avoid overdoing it to prevent electrical issues. Apply it sparingly to achieve effective results.
  5. Detergent Soak: For a deeper clean, especially after painting, remove the plastic part of the switch and soak it in a solution of three liters of water with three tablespoons of powder or liquid detergent. After 24 hours, rinse and let them dry before reinstalling.
  6. Homemade Disinfectant Spray: Create a disinfectant spray by combining 250 ml of vinegar, 70° alcohol, and hydrogen peroxide in equal parts. Add six drops of essential oil, such as tea tree, known for its antimicrobial properties. Lemon and lavender essential oils are also effective against dirt and bacteria.
